Awards and recognition

We are recognised as a Centre of Excellence by Versus Arthritis.

The title was awarded to the Centre in 2013 and means that we receive substantial infrastructure funding from Versus Arthritis over five years in order to carry out our research.

We also receive research support from The University of Manchester and the major grant receiving bodies such as the Medical Research Council, British Society for Rheumatology, NIHR and other funding agencies.

These resources support approximately 100 individuals working on a wide variety of different programmes and projects.

We are also part of the Centre for Musculoskeletal Research at the University, which was awarded EULAR Centre of Excellence in 2016 for a term of five years.

In addition, we are members of the European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance (ENCePP).
